Chapter 9 - Timing Constraints

Dear Coolboy,

Love is ...
Perfect timing.
The absence of missed
opportunities,
The working up of courage,
to do the right thing,
at the absolute moment
of its need.

It is the spark that,
when the chemistry is just right,
flies at the exact moment,
like it had waited an eternity
for you and me to be just present.

It is that intoxicated
mood, the lightness in the air,
that waits, with bated breath,
in anticipation.
For that instant when the music sounds
and the universe dances to the beat,
With atomic precision.

Thank God the stars aligned, no ?

Love,
R

Inspired by a quote from Morse "Love and fishing. Sooner or later it all comes down to the same thing. The one that got away."

Chapter 8 - The boy in the book

There was a boy who lived in a book
from my childhood days,
He was naughty, fierce, unruly
and most disobedient in his ways.

I used to adore him, laugh
at his antics, clever and crazy,
I thought it was a terrific thing to be,
mad, genius and lazy.

That little boy lives in my home now.
He is exactly how I imagined him to be.
Spunky, adventure seeking,
trouble making and running carefree.

Everyday is exciting with him,
But every now and then I wonder,
Was, the only way to enjoy him in person,
to be this little monster's mother ?

I could have been his friend
and it would have been such a delight !
I could have been his sister,
he would make a brilliant ally in a flight.

But no, I had to mother him,
To bear the adorable with the rowdy
To be exasperated beyond reason
and still love him with every bone in my body.

That boy who lived in a book,
And my own childhood is now set aside,
This boy will live in my life's stories
I will recount his tales with joy and pride.

Dear Mowgli,
you crazy crazy child. we would not change a thing about you, even though we try so very hard to change you, correct you, temper you and soften you every single day.
Your very annoying parents.
