Half way Mark
20 Weeks down !!! Yippeee. 20 more to go... :)
It is truly the honeymoon trimester. Feeling the baby move constantly, I am now aware that I am nurturing a live being within me. It is nothing short of a miracle. And I for one have always believed in them :). I call him Mowgli and sing loudly in the car and in the shower to him. No reaction so far to it.
I have not been reading any pregnancy related books at all. I refused to buy any. It is odd, since I spend enormous amounts of time researching fairly useless, unimportant things. But I like taking each day for what it is. I do read the weekly highlights from time to time ( exactly 3 sentences) from babycenter. On the days I worried (mostly in the first trimester) I would check online for things I wasn't sure about. Soon enough I figured that it was a waste of time since there is too much information and a lot of it half baked and contradictory. Also, every persons physiology is different enough that experiences vary a lot. Normal is a statistical number.
We have been presented with 3 delightful books over the last couple of weeks. The Pregnancy Countdown book is a riot. Its humor is tongue in cheek, spot on with observations and has just the right amount of information for a day to day basis. I started reading it Week 19, and am almost at where I should be. It about how not to take yourself so seriously and provides great laughs. The other two are gifts from Mowgli's NY Maasi. A Little Big Book for Mom and A Little Big Book for Dad. Its beautifully illustrated and filled with classic poems, songs, stories, activities recipes and tons of other little things. Something I already enjoy reading.
I find now that each day has a new surprise, a new development and realize that this is how life is going to be for the next few years. Cool boy is now oscillating wildly between excitement and worry :). He says its because its Tax season, but we know dad better now, dont we Mowgli ???

Mowgli better be wearing a 'chaddi' when he comes out, so I can sing 'Jungle jungle pataa chalaa, chaddi pehen ke phool khila hai' loudly to proclaim his arrival :)
Love ya lots,
