Hmm, is that the one which one the Oscar? I don't understand this Western fixation with Indian poverty, especially in Kolkatta.

parth : For some reason this Oscar winning documentary is different. Because Zana Briski actually has been living there.. fallen in love with those kids and has genuinely tried to make a difference. About the Western fixation with Indian poverty.. with Calcutta I am guessing you are also referring to City of Joy ? - That may be true, but for us indians its the strak reality we must live with. And We must choose to do something about. And hence such documentaries are often a gentle reminder of the parallel universe that exists in India, the one we can so easily forget. But is also part of what we call our own.
