Chapter 10 - To dance

Ponyo asks "Are you dancing?"
I say to her "Always.

When I walk or run,
when I am laughing
or when i am goofing around
with you, having fun.

When I am happy or sad
when I am in a mood
for nothing, or when I am
relaxing or even when I am mad.

When the music can be heard aloud
Then you see me move
 my arms and feet like
the dancing you know about

Maybe you see me 'floss'
or salsa, move like a wave,
sometimes a robot, or an odd
mix of Bollywood and hip-hop

But even when its quiet, words unsaid,
When all you hear is maybe
the wind or my breath, slight and soft
I am dancing in my head. "

For my darling daughter, who takes pride in her dancing mommy. Who wondered why hers was sitting out of a show when she could be dancing herself.

For my darling son, who thinks his mom can never beat his buddy in a dance off.  True story. I tried and conceded. The class watched on amused.

Like the quote goes, dear kids, when you hear the beat, always always dance ! Dance with your feet, dance with your heart, dance with your soul, dance without a care.

“And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.”
― Friedrich Nietzsche
